2011 Upgrade

Are you ready for CRM 2011?

Dynamics CRM 2011 QuickStart Upgrade Services

I’ve designed our QuickStart CRM 2011 Upgrade services to accomodate a range of requirements. Here’s some guidance on which one is right for your organization, starting with which deployment model you’re using:

CRM Online. If your organization is running CRM Online, Microsoft will do the heavy lifting of the CRM upgrade itself, fulfilling the promise of cloud computing in the process. But even in the cloud you aren’t completely free of upgrade tasks, since you’ll need to upgrade the Outlook Client, the E-Mail Router, and any other add-ons you might be using. And don’t forget training: even the most CRM-savvy users should have at least a little training to make sure they can take advantage of the most important new features right out of the gate.

On-premise. If you’re running Dynamics CRM 4.0 Enterprise or Professional on your own servers, you’ve got a little more to think about, since CRM 2011 requires the 64-bit versions of both Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008.

Which service is right for you?

  • Even the most self-sufficient organizations should have some training before making an upgrade. If you’re in this category, consider Option 1 below.
  • If you’re running CRM Online or your on-premise infrastructure is ready, you’re a good candidate for Option2
  • If you need an assessment of your infrastructure or assistance in upgrading it, that’s where Option 3 comes in.

Option 1: Training

Even if you can manage the upgrade internally, you’ll still need to add skills to take advantage of the most important new features of the upgrade. Whether skilling your sales team on the new Outlook client, showing your customizers how to deploy dashboards or create role-tailored forms, or helping you leverage the new workflow features, we can inject the skills you need to maximize your benefit from the new platform.

Option 2: Training + Core Upgrade Services

If you run CRM Online, or if you’ve already got your on-premise server infrastructure upgraded, you’re a good candidate for our CRM 2011 Upgrade QuickStart services:

  • “Dynamics CRM 2011 What’s New Training” for users, customizers and administrators.
  • Configuration of E-Mail Router and Outlook Client for up to five users.
  • Post-delivery support: three support incidents, up to 60 minutes each.
  • Quick-Start Advantage Assessment: identification of five most important new features for client and going-forward proposal for implementation assistance.

For CRM Online, we perform the services listed above in a 2-day engagement; for our on-premise customers we add on the performance and test of the upgrade itself, in a standard 4-day engagement.

*By “infrastructure upgrade”, we mean your current Dynamics CRM 4.0 deployment is healthy, with all updates installed, and running on the 64-bit SQL 2008 and Windows Server 2008 versions

Option 3: Infrastructure Upgrade

If you’re running CRM 4.0 on-premise and want to stay that way, we can help with your infrastructure. Whether you need a CRM deployment architecture overhaul or just some tweaking around the edges, we’ll start with an assessment and help you through the process.
